Improving Access, Conseling & Treatment for Californians with Prostate Cancer (IMPACT). IMPACT’s mission is to provide high quality FREE prostate cancer treatment to Californian men with little or no health insurance. IMPACT partners with community providers, local health departments and other community-based health organizations to establish growing network of health facilities statewide that evaluate and treat patients in their local communities. Currently IMPACT has over 600 contracted health care providers statewide. IMPACT is funded by the California Department Health Services under the direction of Dr. Mark Litwin and Dr. James R. Orecklin from the UCLA Department of Urology.

This IMPACT system was developed in 2 months time using the OpenACS5.2 framework, pTracker, and a general State Machine for managing nonbranching state transitions llike enrollment status, or Provider contract status.
